Rene' Caovilla
The brand was founded in 1934 in the industrial area of Venice. The brand's contemporary turn began in 1955, when René Fernando Caovilla chose to combine his father's meticulous craftsmanship with his innovative artistry, incorporating precious stones, beads, rhinestones and luxurious fabrics into his shoe designs. Prominent among Caovilla's art creations is the CLEO sandal, designed by René in 1969.
